External liquid manufacturing uses stainless steel mixing vessels with controlled agitation for solution preparations and emulsification capability for lotion-type preparations. API dissolution, pH adjustment, preservative addition and volume make-up are conducted in sequence. Lotion-type external liquid preparations use appropriate emulsifiers and stabilisers to maintain physical stability. Clarity testing, specific gravity, pH and microbial limits are monitored in-process and on final batch.

Antifungal lotions — Clotrimazole lotion for tinea infections. Antibiotic topical solutions — Neomycin solution, Clindamycin topical solution for acne. Antibacterial/antiseptic solutions — Povidone-iodine solution (surgical scrub and wound antiseptic), Chlorhexidine topical solution. Anti-inflammatory topical solutions — Diclofenac topical solution.
