9M India manufactures using both hard gelatin and HPMC (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) vegetarian capsule shells. Hard gelatin capsules remain the standard for most pharmaceutical applications — cost-effective, versatile and compatible with a wide API range. HPMC capsule shells are offered for formulations targeting vegetarian, vegan or halal-certified markets — including export destinations across the Middle East, Africa and South-East Asia. HPMC shells are confirmed gelatin-free by written certification.

Powder-filled capsules for immediate-release oral delivery — the most common capsule configuration across antibiotic, analgesic and CNS formulations. Pellet-filled capsules (multi-unit particulate systems) for modified-release and taste-masked applications — pellets are manufactured using fluid bed coating with functional polymers. Combination capsules containing multiple pellet populations or powder-pellet combinations for complex release profiles. All fill configurations are validated for uniformity of dosage units.

Extended-release capsules using polymer-coated pellets for controlled drug delivery over 12–24 hour periods. Enteric-coated capsules for acid-labile APIs requiring delayed release in the small intestine. Modified-release profiles are validated using multi-point dissolution testing including pH-change methods. Coating uniformity is monitored in-process with coating weight gain documentation retained for every batch.

Every capsule batch undergoes full in-house testing before release. Routine release testing covers: uniformity of fill weight, disintegration, dissolution (IR and MR profiles), assay by HPLC, content uniformity and related substances. For enteric-coated capsules, acid-resistance and dissolution testing in simulated intestinal fluid is performed as standard. COA issued from our own QC laboratory.

All capsule formulations are supported by complete documentation — Manufacturing Licence, DCGI approvals, WHO-GMP Certificate, COA, COC, stability data, dissolution profiles, process validation reports and product dossiers for export registration. HPMC capsule formulations include gelatin-free certification. Technical bid support for institutional tender submissions is available on request.
